Raise the minimum wage to $10 and add a cost-of-living adjustment.

Those who are lucky enough to be employed are often overworked and underpaid. $7.25, the current minimum wage, had the same buying power as $9.44 does in 2011. The cost of living continues to increase, while wages remain stagnant. Income distribution is at its lowest levels. Current wage levels goes against the Fair Labor Standards Act, which calls for a "minimum standard of living necessary for health, efficiency and general well-being of workers." $7.25 is not doing that. My wage of $7.45 an hour is not doing that. Please stand with the underemployed of America and call for raising minimum wage to $10, also adding a cost-of-living adjustment that has proven successful with Social Security.
