Recently there has been talk of increasing the minimum wage. States across the nation have been trying to do the work congress will not do. Some legislatures have passed such legislation has had some governors sign them giving their constituents some dignity and decent living wages. A few days ago, the House of Representatives unanimously voted down giving hard working Americans, most of them over qualified for the current positions they currently have due to the recession. They say the hike will kill job growth. I personally disagree. In fact if productivity spikes with the pay rise, they will not fire people but hire more.
This petition (if reached to the goal) will give irrefutable proof that many Americans want a decent wage where they can spend and be proud of what they do.
