Not only would this begin to level the playing field, it could become a giant leap toward fixing the budget deficit and all its nightmare that the media harps on daily.
Altering the incentive structure to make work pay, while maintaining devices like EITC, rent subsidies, and the health insurance subsidies under the Affordable Care Act so that those who are working can support their families and live decent lives would be another "giant leap for mankind."
In the long run it would provide an income level that would allow the American marketplace with enough income to purchase the products that the Corporations want to sell while giving those able to work the dignity of leaving the welfare rolls.
A true win-win for our economy and political system!
