I decided to create a petition to raise the minimum wage because I have seen he effects it can have on families that rely on jobs paying this amount. It is meant to hopefully raise income earned by young adults trying to make it on there own as well as unfortunate older citizens who need more to maintain a comfortable lifestyle.
Doing so may have positive effects on the economy that aren't even clear yet. Letting people earn more money to live on will create more money to be spent.
