Raise minimum wage to $8.25/hr

Created by C.K. on February 03, 2014

Minimum wage has been at $7.25/hr since 2009 with some states increasing it further because of a higher living standard. However this affects those people who have to live on minimum wage and support their families by having another job. Even though minimum wage should be about $21.72/hr had it kept up with inflation that is outrageous and many businesses would either have to fire more of their employees while others would out right close. Therefore I say minimum wage should be bumped up to about $8.25/hr so as to not cause economic collapse. President Obama, in his State Of The Union speech addressed the minimum wage becoming $9/hr with it being attached to inflation so as the cost of living increases the minimum wage will keep up for the most part.
