We the people support a petition that raises the minimum wage to $8.80/hr and creates a 1% federal sales tax. We support a 1% federal sales tax to help ease the strain on our budget. This could either be permanent or it could be temporary until the budget is fixed. We also support a minimum wage increase to $8.80/hr, based on the grounds that it would be around $8.80 based on inflation from when it was last raised.
