The current system of a set minimum wage has cause a decline in the standard of living that can be achieved through working entry-level positions. By raising the minimum wage and indexing with inflation a functional floor is set up for anyone in the workforce that is only trying to make ends me.
I come from a family of 5, my father is currently working 2 jobs (1 full-time and 1 part-time). I'm just out of high school and I have a part-time job and on delayed-entry for the Navy. We aren't poor, but we sure as hell can't afford for all of our saving to continue devaluating year after year. I'm sure there are thousands upon thousands of families that agree that bailing out the fat cats on wall street and ignoring the plight of minimum wage workers is a sign of a broken and corrupt system
