Raise the minimum wage to equal the average cost of living.

The current us federal minimum wage is comparable to third world countries. It is despicable that somebody who works 40 hours does not bring home a living wage. We do not rely on the ceo's of these company's who are making millions it is the employees. You may argue that these jobs that make minimum wage are for highschool and college students but this is simply not the case. People have families who work and make minimum wage and they can't feed their family and have to go on government assistance. It is demoralizing for people to do this. I believe the minimum wage should be set to fifteen dollars per hour. If we do this a large amount of people would be eligible to get off public assistance and be independent. I implore you to sign my petition and to raise the standard of living here.
