It is a very sad and disturbing time in America when a person can work a 40 hour week on minimum wage and still can't afford a 2 bedroom apartment in a safe environment. Is it fair to work someone for so little and sit back and just watch while your pockets get fatter. The gap between the wealthy and the poor has grown and the wealthy don't seem to care at all.
Something has to be done about this and very soon. People can never escape poverty if big businesses won't pay a decent wage for the work they do. Why do you buy people to go to Congress and fight to keep the wage so low? If only you could live on it for a month or two.
It's past time to stand up and do something about this. We don't mind going to work and giving our all on the job but we do mind working for the pennies we now make
