Too many people are being denied employment by companies that pay anywhere near what is required for the costs of living. This leaves them with a low paying minimum wage job. If minimum wage were raised to at least $9.00 per hour, these people might be able to keep their minimum wage jobs and at least kind of live on their income. There are also teens getting their first jobs. They are gradually stepping into the real world. These teens have expenses as well such as: insurance, gas, recreations, and maybe even food. They are limited by labor laws which limit their hours and how late or early they can work. Their employers may not schedule them as much because of these limits. If minimum wage were raised, they could deal with these limitations and still be able to afford their expenses.
