The NRA, National Restaurant Association, are fighting any attempts to increase the minimum wage of restaurant servers. The standard minimum wage for hourly employees have been recently raised but server's have been left behind for over the last 22 years at $2.13 an hour. Restaurants use a tactic of having server's mandatorily tip out other employees. This is used as a subsidy so the restaurant's can pay the tipped out door staff, bussers and other employees lower than minimum wages also. This can come to thousands of dollars a year going to staff tip outs. If you receive $15.00 tip on a $100.00 check you are made to tip out 3-6% of that amount to fellow employees. This equates to receiving a minimum $12.00 tip take home on that $100.00 amount instead of $15.00. Then take away the amoun
