Raise the minimum wage for waitresses from $3.15-$4.15 to $7.25

Created by C.G. on February 04, 2014

As a waitress, I make $3.15 an hour, with assumption that my tips will add up to minimum wage. However that is not the case. I made $5 in tips last night, as an American citizen in this economy, how am I supposed to support myself with minimum wage as low as $3.15 an hour?

This is economic and social injustice. the tips I earn, I deserve to keep. There are several things waiters and waitresses have to deal with that typical minimum wage earners do not have to deal with. Therefore the tips we earn should not be counted in as our hourly wages, which I am asking to be raised to $7.25 an hour.
