Come the year 2015 this country will be short 62,900 physicians, in 2020 a shortage of more then 45,000 primary care physicians, and a shortage of 46,000 surgeons. By 2020, the number of Americans older than age 65 is expected to increase by 36 percent. During the same period, nearly one-third of all physicians are expected to retire. Your current administration has attempted to put a band aid over a wound that needs sutures.What this means to you, increase in wait times, and a decrease in quality healthcare. This will effect every american especially Americans who live in rural or inner-city locations where there is a shortage already. You can stop the hemorage by having congress enact on S. 1627 (112th): Resident Physician Shortage Reduction Act of 2011
