Since people are using this petition system to angrily suggest Secession and the Executive dance the 'Hokie Pokie', they are endangering the integrity/respectability this petition system itself. Raising the signature limit to 100,000 before action ensures:
1) This petition system will survive, as it is an unusual tool that actually allows John Q. Citizen to bypass the Lobbyists of BOTH parties and put an idea forward
2) It lessens the appeal to political cranks, wanks, and people missing planks
3) It saves time for that precious American Political Asset - the unpaid intern, without whom our Republic would collapse
Fun is fun, but we have real problems and need places for good ideas to be put forward. A good idea will get 100,000 signatures and will then deserve serious consideration.
