1. Remove all tax provisions and direct subsidies for oil companies.
2. Institute a light carbon tax on households making over 250,000 dollars a year. I say this not because I want to increase taxes for the wealthy, but because they are the only ones who can afford to make the changes necessary for a greener lifestyle. However, if they own an electric car or plug in hybrid, they should be exempt. That way they are not punished for the rise in electricity costs associated with such a purchase.
3. Institute an excise tax on Styrofoam packaging. Styrofoam cannot biodegrade, is extremely difficult to recycle, and is very harmful for the environment. This will pave the way for newer mushroom based alternatives.
4. Institute an excise tax on endangered seafood sources.
