The U.S., created of the Internet, is ranked between 35th and 39th in terms of Internet speeds, is ranked about 20th in terms of access to broadband services yet ranks as one of the highest in cost of broadband among developed nations.
It is time this changed. Broadband companies have no incentive to change if they can continue raising the prices and milking consumers for all they can. If John Kerry can tell governments like Venezuela that unfettered Internet access is a fundamental right, should the same not be extended to the citizens he holds as models? Classify Internet access as no longer a service but a utility, raise the speeds and lower the prices to match Asia and Europe, and restore net neutrality.
