Raise SSDI payments to at least minimum wage level for those not getting even minimum wage level.

Created by C.C. on May 14, 2014

Currently SSDI is based on your work history. Some of us, who got struck with a permanent disability, have limited work histories. Our SSDI benefits aren't even at minimum wage level when calculated at a 40 hour week. We rely on COLA, which may or may not happen, and while appreciated, is not enough in many cases. I currently receive a benefit of less than $6.30 per hour, again based on a 40 hour week. If I could work and earn more I would. As would most others who are receiving SSDI. Please consider raising the benefit amount to a minimum for those that are below minimum wage.
