Raise the standard of education in public schools throughout the nation as to provide more opportunities to our youth.

Currently our school are significantly underachieving. A study done by the Huffington post shows that 47% of all adults in Detroit are illiterate as of 2011. At the same time unemployment in Detroit is 11.5%. These two things go hand in hand by doing one the other will benefit. School does many things beyond just teaching you these topics. School is meant to inspire people to want to go and get their American Dream. It keeps students off of the streets and teaches them good habits. Another federal study released in 2009 found that 32 million Americans had low literacy skills. This equates to 1 in 7 or about 14%. It was found that the people in this category found it challenging to read and understand anything more than "a children's picture book". This needs to change.
