Raise tax on cigarettes

Cigarettes are detrimental to not only to the people smoking them but to the society that surrounds them.Secondhand smoke can cause harm in many ways. Each year in the United States alone, it is responsible for 42,000 deaths in non-smokers. If we put a higher a tax on cigarettes the demand will decrease, and therefore less people would buy them. If we decrease the amount of cigarettes being bought we could potentially help solve the issue of of secondhand smoke.
