Raise taxes on cigarettes & alcohol in an attempt to raise American health.

Cigarettes are scientifically proven to have minuscule if any benefits, and cause multiple forms of cancer. Alcohol should also be more heavily taxed because it causes crimes, health issues, and accidents like assault, reckless driving, and permanent mental problems. For these reasons, I theorize that aside from increasing the revenue from this tax, it would also deter people from using these substances, causing the country to have much better health in the long run.
