Our deficit continues to grow each day. We need to increase tax revenues from a source that can AFFORD to pay. Imported spirits is controlled by overseas conglomerates who make billions of dollars from the American consumer. Workers are paid less overseas so it keeps the production cost of the goods low. A bottle of vodka made overseas may cost $2 to make, but here it may cost $4 because of our minimum wages and/or union workforces. If additional tax was put on imports, it would create a level playing field so ALL-AMERICAN brands can compete with the larger foreign owned companies. The resurgence of AMERICAN BRANDS will jumpstart the economy and rebuild pride in American craftsmanship.
