The tax rate for America's wealthiest have never been lower. If trickle-down economics worked then we would be in an economic boom right now.
In 2009 the fortune of the richest 400 people in America totaled to $1.27 trillion while the bottom 50% of Americans had only $1.22 trillion combined in their banks. Yes, 400 people have more money and resources than 150,000,000 Americans combined.
At the end of 2001, the richest 10% owned 71% of the wealth in this country (the richest 1% owned 38%) while the bottom 40% owned less than 1% of our wealth. Over the past decade the rich gained even more control.
The rich in this country command vast amounts of power with their wealth. They will ALWAYS care more about what their own bank accounts contain over the bank accounts of others.
