Raise the tipped employees minimum wage to $7.25 per hour.

Created by A.H. on February 10, 2015

Tipped employees in the United States are among the least paid workers in America. These workers depend on their tips to pay bills, take care of their children, and provide their daily necessities. However, because of the broken system, employers are taking advantage of how tipped employees are supposed to be paid. I feel that being tipped should be a form of gratuity rather than a form of regular payment for work performed. Tipped workers do so much more than just wait tables. They clean restrooms, prepare food, and other tasks that other workers would be paid $7.25 or more to complete. $2.13 an hour is not a wage anyone should have to live on, especially servers who generally perform more than their fair share of work.
