Raise the United States Military's pay

I firmly believe that the United States Military should be paid a lot more. For the men and women that are overseas protecting our country. They are deployed for long periods of time which sometimes includes Holidays where family is the most important. The United States Military should be given more respect then they are given back home. We really don't hear anything about our servicemen and women who are defending this country. We don't hear anything in the news about them until they are Killed in Action or they are taken as a Prisoner of War. I feel like we could show them a lot more respect by telling their neighborhood when they are coming home and where they will be landing, or give them escorts from the airport to their home, hold a public ceremony thanking them for their service.
