President Obama, US secretary of state John Kerry and UN secretary General Ban Ki-moon have all congratulated Pakistan for the recent elections, calling them successful and transparent, despite there being clear evidence of rigging and fraud. In several constituencies of Karachi citizens were forcibly prevented from voting, ballot boxes were removed and votes wasted. In other places there are videos of people casting several votes in plain sight. This is in addition to the widespread violence and bloodshed by various groups throughout the country. The US has always stated its interest in supporting democracy in Pakistan. We, the citizens of Pakistan, demand that the US administration raise its voice against this violation of our most fundamental of human rights, the right to suffrage.
