Since the creation of our country, the seating arrangement in the House and Senate has always kept the members of different parties seperate, or "across the aisle" from one another. We believe that this is an easily corrected mistake. By randomly assigning seats, we can split up members of the political parties. This will most certainly help to avoid groupthink in all parties and promote bipartisanship, if only due to the proximity of the members of different party members. This would be easy to implement, with no cost to the taxpayer whatsoever and the potential rewards far outweighing the risks. Our country is stuck in a mire of partisan politics, with neither side listening to the other. This change, however simple and small, could help to turn the tide against party politics.
