The International Labor Organization has established 8 fundamental labor conventions: the Forced Labor Convention, Freedom of Association and Protection of the Right to Organize Convention, Right to Organize and Collective Bargaining Convention, Equal Remuneration Convention, Abolition of Forced Labor Convention, Discrimination in Employment and Occupation Convention, Minimum Age Convention, and Worst Forms of Child Labor Convention. Of these, the United States has ratified two. This lack of acceptance of basic standards is undermining the fight for fair labor conditions at home and around the world. We ask the White House to put its money where its mouth is and ask Senate to prioritize the ratification of these standards.
