Ratify the Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty and Begin Drastic Nuclear Arms Reduction Efforts

Created by K.F. on February 20, 2013

The United States has yet to ratify the current Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty, which effectively bans the testing of any and all nuclear weapons. More than 2050 nuclear tests have been conducted in the past decade, most by the United States and the former Soviet Union. The US and Russia still hold a vast majority of the world's nuclear weapons. This petition calls for immediate action by the President and Congress, first to ratify the Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty, and next, to work toward a radical reduction in nuclear arms stockpiles over the next decade with the ultimate goal of disarmament of all nuclear weapons across the globe.
