The United States and Somalia are the only two nations in the UN that have not ratified the Convention on the Rights of the Child. Obama has called this 'embarrassing.' We call on the administration to act boldly in the face of embarrassment. Under Reagan, the US was actively involved in the drafting of the Convention. Under Clinton, the US signed the Convention. Now, we call on Obama to finish this work and join the other members of the United Nations by ratifying the Convention on the Rights of the Child.
