Religious Freedom Restoration Act of 2012
"This is a commonsense bill that simply says the government can’t force religious organizations to abandon the fundamental tenets of their faith because the government says so,” Sen. Marco Rubio, said.
This bill amends Section 2713 of the Public Health Service Act to provide religious conscience protections for individuals and organizations. In short, religious organizations, businesses, and affiliates would be exempted from having to offer insurance that the insured voluntarily and/or involuntarily fund premium paid preventative care for contraceptive and abortifacient medications and procedures.
