With growing caseloads for the Child In Need of Care, it behooves this administration and the Senate to ratify the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. This treaty signed by Bill Clinton in 1995 spells out the Rights of the Child to an education, a clean and safe living environment and while opponents would argue this takes away from parent's rights, from the Economist, Jonathan Todres, a law professor at Georgia State University, notes that the treaty promotes the family as the best environment for children.
