Children in Need Club, a youth club helping domestic and international children, urge you to submit the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) to the US Senate for ratification.
The CRC is an international agreement and framework that protects children’s rights. Since the United States signed (yet not ratified) the treaty in 1995, we believe it is time for you, Mr. President, to summit this treaty to the Senate. Ratifying this treaty is not only important in protecting children’s rights in the United States but also helps the US to retake a leadership role promoting children’s rights internationally. After Somalia re-committed itself to ratifying the treaty in November 2013, the United States is the only country in the world that has not done so.
