RE-CREATE THE CCC OF 1933-42 AS THE SOLUTION TO UNEMPLOYMENT, IMPROVING THE ENVIRONMENT, WELFARE AND THE NATIONAL DEBT.

Created by K.R. on November 17, 2012

The re-creation of the Civilian Conservation Corps will in effect resolve unemployment, improve the environment and reduce welfare and the national debt. It was a successful U.S. unemployment program, one of the earliest NEW DEAL programs, established to relieve unemployment during the GREAT DEPRESSION by providing national conservation work primarily for young unmarried men. Recruits lived in semi-military work camps and received monthly pay as well as food and medical care. Projects included planting trees, building flood barriers, fighting forest fires and maintaining forest roads and trails. It employed a total of 3 million men during its existence. The projects should be expanded to include the infrastructure and education to enhance citizens, making them more employable.
