Re-establish the middle class by letting the Bush tax cuts expire, and reinstate the changes made by the 1986 tax act.

Created by L.B. on January 17, 2012

The last 30 years has seen a massive transfer of wealth from the middle class to our country's wealthest individuals. In a country where "money talks", this has left the middle class with no effective voice. Our political process has become so money driven that politicians support the interests of the wealthy and mostly ignore the vast majority of citizens. The top 400 richest people have the same wealth as the lower 50% of the population. Restoring the tax rates before the Bush tax cuts, and re-establishing the directives of the 1986 tax act would be a good start to giving a voice back to our middle class. Please help stop the move towards an wealthy elitist class, and the rest of us as second class citizens. Our founding principles includes economic justice as one the basic tenants
