It could be argued that our nation was once the world leader in technological advancement and innovation. With the downsizing of NASA it has come to our attention that technology and the scientific pursuits have been given a back seat to other matters, and this should not be. We must fund the sciences, technological research, and technological innovation. Build the space elevator. Construct a launch base on the moon to make space exploration easier. Create a colony on Mars and, someday, terraform the planet. If the United States sets its sights and its mind onto something, anything, it can be accomplished. We must set our sights and our minds to the future today, so that we do not regret it tomorrow.
