Re-evaluate the administrations stance on legalizing marijuana to lower crime, increase tax revenue, and decrease costs.

Created by S.P. on May 03, 2012

The Obama administration should end their war on marijuana. From their official response:

"Our commitment to a balanced approach to drug control is real. This last fiscal year alone, the Federal Government spent over $10 billion on drug education and treatment programs compared to just over $9 billion on drug related law enforcement in the U.S. "

In changing their policy our country will already benefit from a large decline in the $19 billion dollars spent on the drug war. Add in the tax benefits and jobs creation from a new American industry and there is no argument. Marijuana should be treated the same as alcohol, taxed and regulated.

New petitions should be filed every day until it is. It is the best move for our country.
