Re-evaluate flood insurance policies under FEMA! STOP the red tape being used to cheat people out of their own coverage

Created by A.B. on February 09, 2013

People with full coverage flood insurance on Long Island, NY are being turned down by their own flood policies due to FEMA's definition of a "basement"! We do not have basements in high ranch homes. It is our first floor, our living space! We are being forced to take out loans to fix our damages and many of us will be forced to foreclose on our homes once the payments begin. How will this help the economy?
Please, re-evaluate flood policies and help us...before it's to late for many hardworking American families! It is not possible that someone with almost $500,000 in coverage for their home, only get $25,000 because of red tape...Then FEMA says "no" as well? Please, look at these cases and help us!
