Re-instate the ban on military style assault weapons that ended in 2004, or create a similar and stronger ban.

Created by S.A. on December 22, 2012

The second amendment is a right to have a civilian militia, not a right to collect very dangerous weapons for private use. We no longer have a need for civilian militias, and very few people owning these weapons claim that as there reason for doing so. These weapons are not commonly used for hunting or self defense. There is no reason for these weapons to be owned by the general public. They create a public safety hazard for the owners and others around them.
