Federal cuts have impacted our Military, our deployed troops, and now, those who send packages to them. Some overseas base camps have no PXs and/or may run out of needed supplies. Care Packages are an excellent resource for those troops, and families/supporters desire to help. USPS instituted a recent price hike (almost 25%) for online large flat rate postage, removing the previous discounted amount. The limited cash flow to purchase items to send to overseas troops, should be directed toward supply purchase, not to postage fees. Many donations come from shallow pockets, from people with big hearts, attempting to improve morale and improve their situation. Please help to re-institute a significant postal discount for packages going to our deployed soldiers so we can continue project.
