For over a decade we have been continuously lied to by our "mainstream" media. This act of deliberately lying to the public for political gains or higher ratings has divided our nation to the greatest extent since the Civil War. When "objective journalists" are actively campaigning for public officials there must be reform. Reinstate a modern version of the fairness doctrine making it a crime to lie to the general public. Punishable by hefty fines or legal action. This is in our nations best interest as it would ease tensions across the board and prevent future gridlock in Washington as well as tensions in our streets.
