Today, there are 2,2 million people incarcerated in prisons across the nation. 218,787 of them are held in federal facilities with no chance of parole. At least 59,6% of these federal inmates are serving time for victimless crimes.
We the people believe that people deserve the chance to fulfill their true potential. Federal prisons are called Federal Correctional Institutions, so let them be just that, let them work on correcting someone's behaviour and once that person has been "corrected", give them the chance for parole so they may return to society and actually contribute...
Continuing to keep someone in prison after their behaviour has been corrected is not only counterproductive, it's also very expensive. Shouldn't people's hard work and responsibility be rewarded, always?!
