This petition is a formal request to remove from scheduling under the Controlled Substances Act all naturally-occurring plants and their extracts. Freedom of religion and the maintenance of civil liberties mandate that no person can tell another which organisms of the whole of Creation may or may not be used by that individual. The extent to which any individual's unique 'moral' philosophy is applied should be limited to his or her own life choices and not the choices of another. If an individual determines that certain plants are not right for them, that individual has every right not to use such plants. However, that individual also has no right to require others to live under their philosophy. The personal choices related to spiritual journeys and methods used must be protected.
