Insurance companies have incentive to charge higher rates for their bottom line. Like any business the bottom line is a legal obligation. Right now our health can be sold for profit and our illness can be discarded as waste.
We need to take back our health, incorporate a public option and free ourselves from abuse. A public option will force competition back into the market and insurance companies will be forced to lower costs. Employers would save money, we would all be covered and wouldn't lose our dignity in bankruptcies over our health.
We need to trust ourselves and serve the best interests of the people in America. Health care should be a right, not a commodity. Let's share expense and lower our own costs when it comes to our health!
