In the past few decades, science has slowly unveiled the immense medicinal potential of natural psychedelic compounds, which have been shown to not only treat—but effectively CURE—afflictions such as PTSD, alcoholism, drug addiction, severe depression and anxiety. These substances are far safer and come with far fewer side effects than synthetic psychiatric compounds currently on the market and deserve a fair place in our pharmacopeia. While there is a continued need for regulation and control, the re-scheduling of these three compounds to Schedule II or III will give doctors and researchers the legal leverage they need to effectively treat their patients.
