The Federal "Compassionate Investigational New Drug Program" for Medical Marijuana should be reopened. Allow all patients currently enrolled in state medical marijuana programs to apply to join the federal program. If they have a life threatening health condition and cannot afford their own medicine, make federally grown medical marijuana available to them. If they are able to afford their own medicine, allow them to grow their own, or use the medicine available in state licensed dispensaries. This would open the study to more species or strains of medical marijuana, and would yield a more complete picture of the effects of the medical use of marijuana.
