Dear Mr. President,
We are writing to you as citizens of the United States, citizens of Ukraine, and most importantly as free citizens of this world.
In the early hours of Dec. 25th, Tetyana Chornovol, a prominent Ukrainian journalist and civic activist, was brutally beaten outside Kyiv.
An unbiased investigation under the current government and judicial system is not feasible. The Nov. 30th EvroMaidan bloodshed has clearly shown that some people stand above law in Ukraine.
Today's horrific act of violence against a human, a mother, a journalist, demands decisive action to make it clear to the Ukrainian government that there comes responsibility with the brutal infringement of human rights and the physical cruelty with which it treats Ukrainians.
Personal sanctions must be initiated.
