The nation of Tibet has been under a long standing invasion since China invaded it. But administration after administration has been a bit wishy washy on the subject, if they did take action at all, it wasn't far enough.
The Obama administration should immediately reaffirm it's support for Tibetan independence as well as recognize Tibet as an independent country, which will be a big boost to Tibet.
As a world leader, if we do it, many other nations will follow our lead, and China will have to back off. Eventually.
