Reaffirm support of Career Technical Education and the associated organizations building job skills for our students.

In a recovering economy, basic job skills can make or break a high school graduate. Most people think of school as a stepping stone to college, but there are many non-academic classes and clubs promoting skills needed in the workplace while enhancing the teachings of core academic classes.
While the Obama administration has made great efforts to encourage students to go on to college, a voice of recognition could do much to encourage and strengthen the Career Technical programs operating in many high schools across the nation. These same programs are often looked at as a way to meet budget cuts simply because they are not part of the core curriculum. However, CTE classes and the associated organizations provide real world job skills before students have a chance to get into the workplace
