Reaffirm the vibrant democracy of Taiwan, it should be recognized as an autonomous region territory.

Created by J.H. on February 05, 2016

In 1951, the USA was named as the principal occupying power of Taiwan in San Francisco Peace Treaty. In 1979 the USA promulgated the Taiwan Relations Act.

In Jan. 2016, the people of Taiwan demonstrated the vibrant democracy and elected Tsai Ing-wen as president. It is time for USA to declare the termination of military occupation and lift the General Order No.1. On Nov. 7, 2015 Ma and Xi met and shook hands to confirm that ROC and PRC are “One China” now. But Taiwan is not ROC and not part of China.

Taiwan needs to be recognized as an autonomous territory to participate in the international community, which complies with USA's One China policy.

Taiwanese need help to get out of the political purgatory and terminate their status as the sole political orphan.
