As current consumer protection "lemon" law guidelines are unacceptable and obsolete, reform is long overdue.
American consumers who've purchased vehicles from American auto-makers; when said vehicle proves to be an abomination of design; should have the right to locate a member of the design team responsible, remove their head from their rectum, and replace it with the defective 'crap' to the orifice from which it originated. Then, after a full refund... Said designer shall be allowed to violate the supervisor responsible for their incompetence.
This, provision will give incentive to automakers to actually produce a reliable product... After taking taxpayer money in a bailout... We have the right to justice from organized economic rape.
